The Polikarpov R-5 was a Soviet reconnaissance bomber aircraft of the 1930s. It was the standard light bomber and reconnaissance aircraft of the Soviet Air Force for much of the 1930s, some 7000 being built in total in different versions. The Central Museum of the Air Force has this one on display, honouring its service during WW II. It was first reported with the collection in February 1993. Its serial is applied on the fuselage obscured by the wing.
