Aircraft took part in London to Paris race. Photo probably taken at the Thames in Barking from where it flew to the Seine in Paris. Ex G-APNY which was operated by Onassis Shipping Line and flew to Croydon from the yacht of Aristotle Onassis in 1958. Registered HB-LAV just before the race. To SX-BDB in 1960 which was nominally in the fleet of Onassis' Olympic Aviation, but it and SX-BDC (c/n 246) were used privately by Onassis. The crash of SX-BDC on 22 January 1973 killed Onassis' son Alexander. Photo from: Nationaal Archief (Netherlands)
