This aircraft was damaged beyond repair after it skidded of the runway at Mexico City on 21 July 2004. Dumped in a corner of the airport this airframe still survives at the time of this picture was uploaded to Airhistory.

Registration XA-BCS, is very appropriate, as BCS is the abbreviation for the state of Baja California Sur, home of Aerocalifornia. This short DC-9 was originally delivered in 1967, it crashed on takeoff in Mexico City in 2004.

This former TTA DC-9 was being stripped of its original markings in preparation of being painted in the new Texas International colors. Slide taken at the Texas International maintenance facility at Hobby Airport in Houston, TX.

Delivered new to TTA on 2 February 1967. The airline marked their DC-9s with "Pamper Jet" on the engine cowlings. Shown taxiing out for take off on runway 04 at Ryan Airport in Baton Rouge.

Ex N1302T, registered 18th Dec 1988. On the 21st July 2004 Aerocalifornia flight 706 was the evening flight from Mexico City to Durango and Torreón. About half an hour late, the flight was cleared to takeoff from runway 05L. Immediately after rotation the flight encountered windshear forcing the airplane into the ground with a subsequent loss of control. All three landing gears collapsed and the right wing was destroyed. Looking sharp in the Nevada sun, a former Trans Texas DC-9 which was acquired in 1.84. Sold to Aerocalifornia in 12.88 as XA-BCS. Skidded off wet runway at Mexico City on take off in storm on 21.07.04 and dbr. Undergoing scrapping in 2005 but remains still seen 2011
