Dutch source says the trainee pilot was Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands. Though German-born, he received flying training with 1 EFTS at Hatfield in 1940-1941. T7414 was built at Cowley in January 1941. It was transferred from 1 EFTS to 20 EFTS at Yeadon and was involved in a crash near Harrogate on 3 September 1941 - not this crash if the Dutch information is correct. Repaired and issued to 11 EFTS at Perth - Scone. Struck off charge in 1951. Fuselage used in rebuild of c/n 83899, ex T7470, G-AKYO, which crashed as D-EMUT in 1957.
