After the war a large number of B-29s were put in long-term storage at Robins AFB where they remained until the outbreak of the Korean War when returned to service. This one was built at the Bell Bomber Plant in Marietta, GA. After serving with the Army Air Corps and later the USAF, it was sent in 1956 to the Army proving grounds at Aberdeen, MD. It sat derelict until 1983 when it was recovered by the museum but service records had been lost by then

April 1950: Converted at TB-29 for radar evaluation flights. 1959: Dropped from the USAF inventory and transferred to the Strategic Air Command Museum at Offutt AFB, NE. 1997: The plane was dismantled and trucked to the new SAC Museum facility at Ashland, NE. From 2010 to by 2017 the plane was completely restored as "Lucky Lady."

This B-29 was built by Bell at Atlanta and delivered in August 1945. It was converted to a TB-29 and modified for radar evaluation in April 1950. It is now on display at the Strategic Air and Space Museum, acquiring this 'Lucky Lady' nose art after restoration.

Outer wings of aircraft have been removed so it could be moved out of the display hangar during restoration of the facility.
