Hyakuri-resident U-125 for SAR duties

Based on the BAe 125 Series 800, Japan has 28 U-125As for SAR duties. They have observation windows, 360° radar and thermal imaging systems, flare & marker-buoy dispenser and extra comms equipment. A life-raft packed into a tube can be discharged through the mainwheel bay, requiring the undercarriage to be lowered. The aircraft has enhanced protection against salt water. Examples are deployed across the JASDF base network and this one is the local resident
