VH-OLD was sold in the UK as G-AKVR, a return to the registration it wore before it came to Australia in 1952. VH-OLD was its third Australian registration (VH-BRP, then VH-RCD). When it flew for the first time as VH-OLD in September 1988, it marked the end of 32 years of unfinished rebuilds and long periods of storage. Unfortunately it suffered a forced landing in 1991 which grounded it once again. -OLD was sold in the UK in 1998 but it would be 2004 before it again flew. It is seen here converted by Kingsford Smith Aviation Service with a raised rear fuselage decking.
