VH-DZV in the Rex Aviation assembly hangar. Cessna's low-performance singles were shipped to Australia in timber crates and stored off airport until sold. Disappointing sales saw VH-DZV and several of its sister ships still stored two years after they were built. By then Cessna had fixed the biggest criticism of the Cardinal: a lack of power. Cessna had also decided to continue with the Skyhawk, which the 177 had been intended to replace. -DZV was still current in September 2017.
