Visiting at the Avalon Airshow 2009

This aircraft was built in 1965 as VH-CFM for the Civil Flying School at Moorabbin. When Beech Musketeers began replacing the Airtourers at CFS in 1967, the latter were re-registered in the VH-CT_ series. VH-CTM was converted in 1977 to take a 160 hp Lycoming IO-320-B1A engine and constant-speed propeller. Currently based at Atherton, north Queensland with my good friends Doug & Susie.

This neat Airtourer was built as a 100 with a Rolls Royce O-200. It was converted at Latrobe Valley in 1977 to have a fuel-injected 160 hp Lycoming IO-320B1A, as normally found in a Twin Comanche, running a constant-speed prop.

Ex VH-CFM, VH-CTM was built as an Airtourer 100. In 1977 it swapped its 100hp Continental engine for a 160hp Lycoming to become an Airtourer 100 A1. The A1 signified it was an approved modification. Other Airtourers were similarly upgraded. -CTM was current in 2017
