Correct serial is RR263 which following withdrawal, was transferred from storage to RAF Kenley in November 1955 where it served as the gate guard until November 1966. Transferred to 5 MU at Kemble in 1967 for restoration and painting into the markings of 340 Ille de France Squadron for presentation to the French Air Force. On display at Musee de l'Air et l'Espace, Paris-Le Bourget since 1978.

This Spitfire is in reality RR263 and was presented to France by the British Government to honour the memory of the French pilots that flew with the Royal Air Force. It was repainted into the colours of the plane flown by Adjt Charasse of 340 Squadron, Ile de France.

This aircraft is actually RR263 and carries fictitious markings. It is preserved as part of the Musee de l'Air et de l'Espace.
