Delivered new to E. W. Wiggins Airways of Massachusetts in October 1946 although the notes with the photo say it was owned by the State of Rhode Island. Maybe Wiggins had a contract with the state to provide a flying boat or it was being demonstrated in the hope of a sale. The number of Seabees in the background of other photos of NC87524 this day is a strong indication this is at the factory at Farmingdale. Remains of N87524 in a Florida scrap yard in 2004.
