Built in 1959 for the US Army as 58-2053, then transferred to the Royal Laotian Air Force as 82053 until around 1973, flying in armed configuration for some of its service. Imported to Canada from crated condition at Bangkok, Thailand becoming C-GUVJ in 1977. Based mainly at Campbell River, British Colombia from 1978 until 1990. Became N577V with an Alaskan owner in 1993. Moved to Minnesota in 1995, then to North Dakota and Montana before returning to Alaska in 2010, re-registered at Anchorage as N4957W.
