On final approach to Runway 33 at Anchorage's Ted Stevens International Airport. Built in 1956 as a Convair 440 Metropolitan and delivered new to Sabena as OO-SCT. Bought by Frontier Airlines in 1967 as N73167 and converted to Convair 580 standard. Registered to Metroflight Inc ( American Eagle) in 1986 but put into storage at Marana, Arizona in 1987. Re-entered service with Era Aviation in 1989 as N566EA. Sold to Air Chathams in 2005 as ZK-CIF. Put into storage at Auckland and broken up there in 2019.

Having just arrived on it from Anchorage, there was enough time to take some photos on the Kenai ramp before boarding it back to Anchorage. Short hops of 15 and 17 minutes respectively. This frame was originally a Convair 440 with Sabena as OO-SCT. I had logged it as such at Brussels back in Aug 63. In 1966 I had flown on two Sabena Convair 440s, but not this one.
