The aircraft is now owned by the California Department Of Forestry And Fire Protection and in temporary storage at McClellan. The previous owner NASA requested them to remove all visible markings as soon as possible, which they did. It will be repainted and upgraded to CAL FIRE standard in the future, but this can take a little while as a couple more have to undergo the same proces.

From what I understand, the owner of this aircraft purchased it intending for it to be an AirBNB in the Smoky Mountains, but found out it wouldn't fit up the roads, so they left it at this small gas station outside of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
