This included reducing the number of active military jet air bases from around 12 to currently 3. Recent geopolitical developments led to the decision to temporary re-activate for jet training some of the "so called sleeping bases". In addition, other options are explored as well, resulting in exercise "BERDEZA 2025" taking place between March 31 and April 2, 2025 at Bern airport, which never saw F-18 operations before.
