Three Harrow bombers were converted to tankers. G-AFRL was based in Shannon, G-AFRG and G-AFRH in Gander to help Short S.30 Empires across the Atlantic. The two planes in Canada were impressed by the RCAF on the outbreak of WWII. G-AFRG became 794 with the Test and Development Establishment at Rockcliffe, but may only have been repainted later. Note window created on the left side of nose for tanker mission - the receiver flew slightly off to that side. Photo location is probably Rockcliffe, where a control tower was built on a top of a hangar. Photo from: Ingenium
