Designed in the 1960s the Beech 99 was developed from the Queen Air and King Air series and were intended as a feederliner to replace the Beech 18. The type was never common in Europe and, like the Beech 18 it was intended to replace, many are now used as freighters.

The Beech 99 was developed from the Queen Air and King Air series in the late 1960s and it was intended as a feederliner to replace the Beech 18. The type was never common in Europe and this was the first of the type I ever saw, at the same airfield in 1973.
