This photograph of F4EJ No. 336 fitted with a missile target (RMK-19A/A47U-3) from the 301st SQ of Nyutabaru Air Base was taken at JASDF Tsuiki Air Base on July 7, 1999. Because the F4EJ could be fitted with targets for missile firing and dart targets for gun firing, it was moved to other bases to support training. All F4EJs in combat units were retired in March 2001. As a result, since then, all JASDF F4 fighter aircraft have been F4EJ Kai. The F4EJ continued to fly as a test aircraft at Gifu Air Base until March 2021.

Approaching the airfield from the east, this F-4EJ performs a tactical split with another Phantom off it's left wing.

Photographed as one of the static exhibits at the Gifu AB Air Festival 2009. Even though I got to the show early there were still many, many people present. So many in fact that I quickly gave up on base and decanted to the South side.
