This photograph of F4EJ No. 336 fitted with a missile target (RMK-19A/A47U-3) from the 301st SQ of Nyutabaru Air Base was taken at JASDF Tsuiki Air Base on July 7, 1999. Because the F4EJ could be fitted with targets for missile firing and dart targets for gun firing, it was moved to other bases to support training. All F4EJs in combat units were retired in March 2001. As a result, since then, all JASDF F4 fighter aircraft have been F4EJ Kai.
