One of several Soviet-built types acquired by the Luftwaffe following the re-unification of Germany. This was probably one of the few occasions this aircraft left Germany, seen here during a NATO Defence Ministers Summit at nearby Gleneagles.

Together with two sister ships, 11-22 had just been transferred from Interflug to Luftwaffe / German Government a few days before I took this slide. However, all three IL-62M's saw limited governmental service only, and after a period of storage at Ingolstadt they were sold via Uzbekistan to Alim Air of Egypt. This one here flew as SU-ZDA and was seen at Cairo in derelict conditions a few years later.
