Retired at NASNI after making its last deployment during Operation Iraqi Freedom (where it may have operated as an 'ES-3 Shadow' for surveillance missions). It has now been on display aboard the USS Midway museum since 2004.

This striking S-3 was built by Lockheed at Burbank and delivered to the Navy in 1978 as the 184th of 187 Vikings built. She latterly served with Sea Control Squadron 21 (VS-21) at Naval Air Field Atsugi, Japan and deployed aboard the USS Kitty Hawk. The superb markings were applied in 2004 for the disestablishment of VS-21 and she was SOC during April 2005, transferring to AMARG as AN2S0070. The distinctive scheme obviously saved her as she is now on display at the amazing Pima Air & Space Museum.

This S-3 served with HMLA-467 at MCAS Cherry Point, NC before being retired to AMARG during April 2013 with a total flying time of 8718.9 hours.
