This Phantom is on display inside the air base, not at the Barksdale Global Power Museum. It's dedicated to Col. Richard 'Pop' Keirn, Lt.Col. Roscoe 'Ross' Fobair and SMSgt O.J. Neal. Keirn and Fobair were the first victims of a SAM-missile during the Vietnam War, when their F-4C-20-MC 63-7599 was shot down on 24 Jul 1965. Fobair was unfortunately not able to eject, and died when the F-4C crashed. Keirn managed to eject, but was captured. He spent 7.5 years at the 'Hanoi Hilton', before being released during Operation Homecoming on 12 Feb 1973.
