Undergoing restoration to participate in the 75th anniversary of the Normandy invasion on D-day when photographed, this C-47 flew as lead aircraft that day. Returning to the USA after the war, it was transferred to the Reconstruction Finance Corp and sold as N88874. Active until 1999 when the aircraft was placed in a succession of museums until sold to Basler Turbo Conversions and stored for future conversion. Rescued for restoration in 2015, it flew once again in January 2018.
