21 July 1948: First flight, flown by Boeing test pilots. December/48: TOS USAF. Spent its entire career as a flying test bed. 1954: Transferred to Chanute AFB, IL for maintenance and familiarization training. 1994: Placed on display with the Chanute Air Museum. 31 Oct 2015: The museum closed and the following year this plane was transported to the Air Force Flight Test Center Museum at Edwards AFB, CA.
