P-38s over the Aleutian Islands. 42-12908 belonged to the 344th Fighter Squadron, 343rd FG, based on Shemya Island in 1944. Joe Baugher's site gives 42-12908 as written off at Attu on 21 December 1943, but probably repaired instead and crashed near Attu on 5 December 1944.
