Flying past at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2024. This is the 74th of 87 Traders built at Bethpage. The C-1A differed from the S2F-1 Tracker by having a deepened fuselage with windows. It could carry nine passengers on rearward-facing seats, haul cargo or perform carrier qualification flights for multi-engine pilots. It was powered by the same 1,525 hp Wright R-1820-82WA radial engines. This aircraft was taken on charge by the USN on 18 Aug 1958 as BuNo 146044. It served as "Miss Belle" aboard CV-62 USS independence during the Vietnam War, flying in the COD role till retired in 1988.

US Navy Trader 146044 had been active in service 1958 - 1988 when allocated to the National Museum of Naval Aviation. The aircraft was sold as surplus to needs in 1990. Initially registered N71459 it was changed to N189G less than two months later.
