This Thunderjet, superbly presented as a colourful F-84G of the 58th FBW's commander during the Korean War, is in fact F-84E 50-1143 which itself flew many combat missions in Korea with the 27th Fighter Escort Group and 136th FBW Texas ANG. The latter was the first ANG ever unit to enter combat. In late 1963 it came to the USAFM and was painted as now seen by 2012

This Thunderjet is on display at the National Museum of the USAF. It really is 50-1143 bit it is marked to represent the F-84G flown by Col. Joseph Davis Jr., commander of the 58th Fighter-Bomber Wing in 1953.
