Built to a 1942 order for the USAAF as 42-99331, this aircraft evidently went to the China-Burma-India theatre of war as after the war it was civilianised in India as VT-CDL, one of about 100 such. Imported to Australia and beautifully restored, it was first registered as VH-NLR on 16 April 1999.

About to lift off from a park in Roma during the Federation Airshows in the Outback. VH-HGN was registered in Australia on 10 June 1986 and its envelope displays the classic Balloon Works 'zig-zag' pattern. In the background is the RAAF balloon VH-TRI, and above that VH-BIE.
