This York was a built at Avro's Yeadon (Leeds) factory in mid 1946 for the RAF as a long range freighter. Operated by 511 Squadron based at RAF Lyneham. After many sorties on the Berlin Airlift (Operation Plainfare), often carrying coal, it is being serviced by Fairey Aviation at Ringway, before returning for more punishment!

Avro York of No. 51 Squadron landing on Ringway's 3300 ft Runway 20 after a test flight flown by a Fairey Aviation pilot. The York had been deployed on the Berlin Airlift and it returned to Germany after servicing by Faireys.

On finals to Ringway's Runway 06 whilst operating Hunting Clan's "Africargo" regular freight schedule linking Manchester, Heathrow and Nairobi.

Built in 1946 as LV-AFZ. Served Eagle Aviation from December 1950 to November 1952. Later leased to Air Liban as OD-ABV. The last of the Yorks were sold in late 1952 and in mid 1953 the company name was changed to Eagle Airways.

Skyways York G-AHFG undergoing fixing of a Merlin engine before departing on a diverted trooping flight via Keflavik and Gander to Jamaica. This was the first revenue-earning transatlantic flight from Ringway.
