First time I saw this aircraft at Brisbane soon after entering service.

Built in 1986 and registered VH-EAN the same year. It was also registered N683BF - N6018N - N773WD.

VH-EAN was with Qantas from February 1986 until sold as N773WD in September 2004

VH-EAM was delivered in December 1985 and remained with Qantas until flown into storage at Marana, Arizona, in April 2004. It was not there long and became N771WD in May.

VH-EAL was delivered to Qantas in September 1985, In January 2004 it was flown into storage at Marana, Arizona. Two months later it was sold as N770WD.

The then new VH-EAK was the centrepiece of the Qantas display at the Williamtown air show. It had been delivered to Qantas the previous month and remained with the airline until it was flown into storage at Marana, Arizona, in 2003. It was later scrapped.

VH-EAJ photographed ahead of its delivery flight. I was part of a media party invited to Everett for a briefing on the now forgotten Boeing 7J7 propfan project that coincided with the handover. We were then flown to Fiji on a regular Qantas flight (from LAX) to join VH-EAJ on the final leg of its delivery flight to Sydney which included a pass over its namesake city, Wollongong. Qantas would be the only operator of the aircraft, which flew into storage in 2003 and later scrapped.
