This is perhaps HC-BLF's last photo. This aircraft crashed at Cerro El Cumbal in Colombia while attempting to land in Tulcán (SETU/TUA) on January 28, 2002. Unfortunately, all occupants lost their life in this accident.

Taken while boarding a Garuda flight with improvised support for a time exposure, this was one of only two 727s ever registered in the Philippines until much more recent times. Ex SE-DDB and bought from Scanair in 10.81; sold to TAME as HC-BLF in 7.84. On 28.1.02 flew into the side of the Nevado el Cumbal Volcano near Ipiales in Colombia at 14,700ft, 1400ft below the summit, on a flight from Quito to Cali via Tulcán

"Northern Light" was delivered new to Transair Sweden in December 1967, operating until October 1981. Here it "smokes in" on finals to Kastrup in 1973.
