The aircraft made its first flight on 20 May 1983, was deliverd to the Royal Netherlands Air Force on 30 June 1983 and served from that moment 311 squadron. In March 1984 it was transferred to 306 squadron. Unfortunately, its pilot was killed in a tragic crash near Linz, Germany on 28 May 1984.
