Jaguars - especially the two seat version - have a habit of venting fuel as they start the take-off roll as is the case here. This aircraft is in the markings of 16R Sqn but this squadron actually disbanded a few days before this shot was taken.

This aircraft was operated and maintained in taxyable condition with the Aircraft Maintenance Instruction Flight at RAF Cranwell. Carrying an RAF black training livery this example bears the Saint markings of 16 Squadron which is actually a Grob Tutor training squadron based in the adjacent hangars. The squadron got the nickname of the Saints after it was formed at St Omer in 1915. This unit and its aircraft have since been moved to RAF Cosford
