It received serial VP905, the same as the first C-47 in Indian service that transported the troops in 1947. It departed the UK on delivery to India on 17 Apr 2018, arriving there on 26 Apr 2018. The HAL Prachand (in English "Fierce") is an indigenous built multi-role, light attack helicopter designed and manufactured by the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) under the project name LCH. The Prachand has been ordered by the Indian Air Force and the Indian Army. HAL claims that the LCH's flight ceiling is the highest among all attack helicopters in the world. This was realized for the expected operation area in the north of India.
