In an effort to stimulate domestic tourism, an initiative between the Federal Government and Tourism Australia known as the Tourism Aviation Network Support (TANS) program was established providing discounted airfares for sale between 1 April and 30 June 2021 to be used until September 2021. REX offered half price fares on some of its routes one of which was Adelaide-Kingscote allowing the reintroduction of the service.

Former Virgin Australia VH-VOM. Afternoon departure: after a spectacularly short take off run REX flight 444 to Melbourne got plenty of altitude by the time it passed the photo spot. Due to the border between SA and Victoria recently reopening after another almost nationwide Covid lockdown, passenger numbers probably hadn't recovered sufficiently to fill all flights, and considering this was a Sunday, and with Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin Australia all providing Melbourne services, this REX service would appear to have been very lightly loaded.
