The Screaming Eagles double nuts. It made its last cruise as such in '90, following a WestPac deployment on board USS Carl Vinson to the Indian Ocean that ended on 31 Jul'90. The Cat continued as the VF-51 CAG bird through '91 (as pictured, check the AIM-54 Phoenix air-to-air missile underneath the fuselage). The F-14A was moved as NE-102 to VF-2 in '93 and was deployed in Jun'94 with CVW-15 USS Kitty Hawk in a WestPac-Indian Ocean cruise. It crashed on 11 Jul'94 when it broke in half during a trap on board Kitty. The cockpitsection slid down over the deck and over the side. Crew ejected safe.

Rare pic of this VF-191 bird. VF-191 only operated Phantoms from 1976 until it was disbanded in March 1978. It only did one single cruise, on board USS Coral Sea, from February until October 1977. After that cruise, this F-4J went to VF-121 and crashed off California on 8 February 1978.
