The Huey served with Flygvapnet from 1962 until 1997 and then with Helikopterflottiljen (the Swedish Armed Forces Helicopter Wing, a unit that was the result of merging the Army, Air Force and Navy aviation helicopter units) from 1998 until 2001. Some 12,000 UH-1s were produced and the Försvarsmakten (Swedish Armed Forces) operated a total of 23 HKP 3 with this example on display at this very interesting museum.

This AB204B was delivered to the Swedish air force on 31 July 1962. It served with various flottilj until 1998, when it was retired. By August 2009, it had appeared with the excellent Aeroseum, still carrying the markings of F16.

Seen operational, it has been preserved at the Aeroseum in Göteborg in these colours for the last fifteen years.
