During 1956, New Zealander Sir Keith Park, commander of RAF No 11 Fighter Group during the Battle of Britain and Defence of Malta had this Spitfire donated and temporarily displayed at Hobsonville Airfield. Afterwards, donated to Auckland War Memorial Museum to honour the RNZAF personnel who flew Spitfires during WWII.
