The One-Eleven was still common at Schiphol in my Praktica days, but I never managed a good picture then or ever since, so I was delighted to photograph ZH763 here at the Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre, still looking great after her final flight in 2013 and still not boxed in as usual in museums. Many thanks for the late admittance!

The Comet was the world's first jet airliner but was plagued by crashes due to metal fatigue. This aircraft, the last Comet 1, was then used for tests, having the square cabin windows replaced by oval ones. She is preserved in BOAC colours although this airframe never flew for the airline.

Australia's highest-scoring ace, Robert Alexander Little, achieved his first aerial victories flying this Pup, named Little Maud, whilst serving with with No 8 (Naval) Squadron on the Western Front in late 1916 and early 1917. Found as a heap of parts in France, the aircraft took to the air again in 1973 as G-APUP after a 13-year rebuild, and was recognized as original by the CAA.

Named after a college at Oxford, the Balliol advanced trainer was intended as a Harvard replacement but only saw brief service with the RAF, powered by the Merlin piston engine although the Mamba turboprop had been intended. The Sea Balliol had folding wings and an arrester hook, and 30 examples were built for the FAA.
