This former Florida Air Transport freighter was disassembled at Opa-locka Airport and moved to New Smyrna Beach Airport for conversion into a restaurant. Conversion plans were scuttled by local bureaucrats and the aircraft is currently (January 2018) parked in front of the Epic Flight Academy.

The Mk.16 was the final Merlin-engined Spitfire, differing from the Mk.9 basically in having a Packard-built Merlin 266. This aircraft was built in 1945 with cut-down rear fuselage, but has been restored in high-back form.
