This historic aircraft was the first Moth to be exported from the UK, being first registered in Australia as G-AUAE on 5 November 1925 to the Civil Aviation Branch, Department of Defence. It was re-registered as VH-UAE in 1930. In later years it was re-built to DH-60G standard and is preserved in immaculate condition today as one of the oldest aeroplanes still airworthy in Australia.

This aircraft was the first production Griffon powered Spitfire. It is seen here in the colours of the Indian Airforce with whom it served. It was acquired by the Commemorative Airforce in 2004 from the Museum of Flight at Santa Monica Ca and is currently grounded for an engine rebuild. Note also the B25 Mitchell in the background which is being refurbished in this cluttered hangar.
