O/B PA Foch

Ex USAF, French Air Force 29963. Last code was 5-MB. Returned to the USAF in 1978 and stored at Sculthorpe, Norfolk. Noted at this museum in December 1978. The museum sadly closed in 1996 and this aircraft was scrapped here in 1998.

VH-HTA was used by Radio 2UE for traffic reports in Sydney. NRMA Insurance was its sponsor. It crashed at Jandakot, Western Australia, on October 31, 1992.

The pilot of VH-HAU was trying to get a better look at a saltwater crocodile on mudflats at Dundee Beach, Northern Territory, on June 21, 2009 when he crashed. He dragged his injured passenger away from the wreck, the tide and the crocodile. They were rescued later that night.
