Less than three months later (see my other photo of XL566) the tail code has been amended to "TW3" According to one of the squadron personnel it was supposed to represent a popular satirical TV show presented by David Frost which ran from 1962 - 3. It was called, "That Was The Week That Was" or commonly shortened to "TW3" Ended up at Brüggen as 8891M for instructional use and scrapped in 1995.

Aircraft in the background are "G"(XJ691); "H"(XK140); "L"(XE618) & "TW3" XL566. XG169 was w/o 5th June 1973 whilst with 229 OCU. Abandoned in flight when engine failed. Crashed on Dartmoor (pilot ejected OK)

Another of 208 Sqn's a/c temporarily based to use the air to ground training range.

Sharjah was used extensively for "Armament Practice Camps" using a local range. This a/c carries the name of the 208 Sqd Commanding Officer "Wg/Cdr D.J.Rhodes, AFM" under the cockpit. Note the well worn paintwork.
