Built new for Alitalia in March 1956. Leased to SAM in October 1963 for holiday flights. Transferred to Italian AF in September 1964.

Delivered new to Flying Tigers in April 1957, serving until sale in August 1968. Operating a transatlantic passenger charter flight to/from Gatwick. The burnished metal fuselage reflects the blue sky.

March 1957-built DC-6B purchased by Airnautic of France in June 1962. Visiting Gatwick in 1964 on a passenger charter. Leased to Cambodia in 1966 as XU-IAJ.

This was the first prototype for the DC-6 series which first flew on 15 February 1946 as XC-112A USAAF 45-873. Converted to DC-6 standard in 1956, but was never allocated a Douglas line number (the first production DC-6 c/n 42854 was line number 1). Operated by TASSA of Spain from May 1963 until June 1965. Aviaco DC-6B EC-ASS (c/n 44695) is in the background. The public roof terraces are at the left.

British Eagle operated 'OVG from 04.64 until their collapse in 11.68. "Bounteous" is being refuelled from Esso tankers during its turnround.
