The Vega 35 was commenced as the North American NA-35. It lost out to the Ryan STA for a USAAC order. The design and four unfinished aircraft were sold to Lockheed subsidiary Vega. Vega finished the aircraft and from this photo it was offered to the RCAF. Wartime demands on Vega's production capacity saw the aircraft again dropped. The four Vega built aircraft were sold to civil buyers. NX28351 (probably as NC28351) was cancelled from the register in 1948. The Navion, another North American project, used the same wing.
