This photograph shows a corner of the Polish Aviation Museum at Krakow with Mig-21s, Sukhoi-7s and Lim 6s visible. I have been an enthusiast long enough to remember when it was a dream to even see these types of aircraft, yet here I was walking around with dozens of them on display. A wonderful museum, wonderful.

This is one of several Mi-2M2 prototypes, although only one actually flew and it is unclear (to me) if this is the one that got off the ground. The frame has been on display at the Lubuskie Muzeum Wojskowe in Drzonów since around 1989.

This Crate is on display at the Muzeum Orła Białego, named after members of the local WWII, resistance group Orzel Bialy (White Eagle), many of whom were captured, shot and buried in two mass graves in nearby forests. The museum has relatively few planes, rather a large collection of Russian, Polish and German WWII and post-war tanks and military equipment. The museum also collects and preserves documents and historical materials relating to the military history of the city and the region.

Polish National Aviation Competition. Number 12 is SP-BKW. The RWD-8 was a notable trainer and light reconnaissance / liaison type, over 550 examples of which were built. LOPP, a Polish paramilitary organisation, supported RWD and funded aircraft for the aero clubs. The Polish air force had 350 RWD-8 planes on strength in 1398 and they saw frontline service the following year. Photo from: Narodowe Archiwum Cyfrowe

An everyday sight here no doubt - PZL Świdnik turned out over 5000 Mi-2s between 1965 and 2005. Behind SP-SBP are SP-SLG, SP-SCL, SP-SPS, SP-SDH, SP-SFX and SP-SAG. All of these were registered to ZEUŚ, a helicopter services company which was a unit within WSK PZL Świdnik. They were involved in agricultural aviation, passenger and cargo transport, equipment test work and training. Photo by: Lech Zielaskowski / Narodowe Archiwum Cyfrowe

This Fishbed-D is on display at the Muzeum Orła Białego, named after members of the local WWII, resistance group Orzel Bialy (White Eagle), many of whom were captured, shot and buried in two mass graves in nearby forests. The museum has relatively few planes, rather a large collection of Russian, Polish and German World War II and post-war tanks and military equipment. The museum also collects and preserves documents and historical materials relating to the military history of the city and the region.
