This aicraft was one of six CV-240s puchased by Central Air Transport to operate services within Nationalist China. After the Communist takeover this plane had the honour of operating the first ever CAAC service, eventually being operated by that company as '401'. Eventually she ended up at Datangshan and regained her old colour scheme but is, unfortunately, displayed without engines.

This extraordinary flying boat is apparently one of six built, no doubt inspired by the Japanese Shin Meiwa designs with a bit of Beriev thrown in too. First flew 1976 and entered service with the People's Liberation Army North Sea Fleet at Qingdao ten years later. Orbis DC-8 N220RB behind

Chinese production of the Antonov An-2, begun in 1957 as the Y-5, was transferred from Nanching to Shijiazhuang Aircraft in 1970 after 728 examples had been produced. This rare but derelict Y-5C floatplane variant was one of six built for the Navy from 1964. Before fading, the serial on the other side read as '21397', but it is believed that a rudder swap (from 21353?) has caused confusion

Where else could you find not one but two Tu-124s on show? Looking fine after recent repainting alongside sister-ship 50257, this rare machine was originally displayed back in the 1990s in a strange pink colour scheme
