This Liberator on display at IAF Museum Palam was previously KH342, flown by 203 Sqn RAF throughout India, Ceylon and the Cocos Islands before being flown by the Royal Indian Air Force. Liberators were flown by the IAF from 1948 to 1968. This B-24J was flown by No. 6 Sqn. "Dragons" in the maritime reconnaissance role.

View inside the amazing Indian Air Force Museum. The Marut was India's first indigenously designed fighter and also her first supersonic aircraft. It was designed by Dr Kurt Tank of FW-190 fame. Alongside is the tail unit of a damaged Su-7, no doubt a relic from the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War. The HT-2 trainer in the foreground was also home-grown

Originally intended for the RAF as XH237 but diverted off MoD contract as part of a 68 aircraft deal for India in 1.57. India was the largest foreign user of the Canberra and required that their B(I)58s were fitted with extra navigation equipment, including a radio altimeter and other mods

About 40 Flying Boxcars remained in service with the Indian AF till the early 80s. This one, with Hindustan-built BS Orpheus jet booster pod for better performance at high-altitude locations, was ex 53-4646. One of two Iskras displayed is visible at the right
