Most active Australian Moths were impressed into the RAAF at the start of World War II but not VH-UIF. It may have been in poor condition because its CoA lapsed in 1941 and it was kept in storage. Plans to rebuild VH-UIF postwar came to nothing and it cancelled from the register in 1947.
