slide scan from the NK collection. - When Air UK was formed in 1980, British Island Airways brought four BAC 1-11s into the new airline; only this one, however, got the full blue Air UK colour scheme. Two years later, the name British Island Airways was reactivated; all four 1-11s were transferred to BIA again, G-CBIA lost its blue colours and was operated mainly on European charter routes.
